The candle or the mirror

“There are two ways of spreading light: to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it.”

– Edith Wharton

When leading WritersGathering, this quote often comes to my mind. This blog will be a place for me to do just that, a place for me to share light and inspiration, and a place to reflect the light and words of other writers.  You are invited to share your inspiration and your words. I call this blog The Candle or the Mirror. I look forward to being both.

    1. And, my dear daughter: you are a candle and a mirror in my life. Thank you for all your help setting up the website, giving me remedial ‘how to administer a website’ lessons and for sharing your light through photography. Most of the photos on the website are by Elie Gardner.

    1. Ellen, thank you for your kind words. You ARE an inspiration to me! I am grateful for social media and the written word which makes it possible for us to continue our mutual inspiration society though we live miles apart. We both care about the same universe.

You have shown me the importance of using your voice and working hard to make a difference in the lives of others. It was so cool to say, “I have a friend who was invited to the President’s Address to a Joint Session of Congress on Health Care” in 2009.
